Legal scholar Ola al Khatib and colleagues analyzed rule-based and data-driven (selection) algorithms within the context of Dutch Public Administration Law. As debates intensify regarding whether and how this law should be revised to effectively regulate algorithmic systems employed by Dutch public sector organisations , the article offers suggestions for enhancing the layered approach to govern algorithms, in interaction with the AI Act and soft law frameworks.
